This event is in the past.
“There are strange things done in the midnight sun, by the men who moil for gold, The Arctic trails have their secret tales that would make your blood run cold”…
These words were penned by the fabled poet and writer, Robert Service, as he watched the great Klondike Gold rush going on around him. It was an amazing time in our country with men and women pushing themselves to unbelievable limits in the hopes of striking it rich!
Annually around the country, the BSA puts on its own version the Klondike Challenge to put its members to the test! This year is a great snow one so we expect the conditions to be excellent.
Boy Scout Troops are encouraged to reach out to the feeder packs and invite the Webelos to join up with on Saturday. Show them how much fun Boy Scouts can be!
Every year there are a few new wrinkles and some new events to challenge the patrols. They better be prepared!
Reminder -- all scouting units must use the a BSA Annual Health and Medical Record being instituted by the national Scout office for all camping events. This goes for scouts and adults! At Klondike, it is only required that Part A and B be completed. If you don't have it in our troop records yet download the Annual Health and Medical Record from here: http://www.scouting.org/scoutsource/HealthandSafety/ahmr.aspx
Cost is $10 ($5 for Webelos) through 2-6-17 at which point the fee will increase to $15.00
Please RSVP to the event so we assess whether we are going,
