Whitewater Rafting - Family Event for 10 and older
Friday, June 22nd, 2012 at 6pm - 3pmSaturday, June 23rd
Location:Wenatchee River near Leavenworth
This event is in the past.
This is a family event for anyone 10 and older. Family camping, family cooking, and family transportation. Siblings and parents are definitely invited. The troop is not arranging transportation for this event since scouts should be travelling with their own family member(s) or working out carpools with other scouts.
There will also be a camping fee: For those of you that are attending the rafting outing and camping on Friday night, June 22nd, we will be at the Lake Wenatchee State Park (South Campground, sites 1-100).
Travel to the Leavenworth area on Friday night and camp family-style. Bring food for your own family (dinner if you don't eat on the way, and breakfast). The troop will be reserving a block of campsites at a local campground - last time it was the Lake Wenatchee State Park.
Pack up camp in the morning and drive a short distance to the rafting pick-up area. They will provide wetsuits and life vests to everyone. Bring a dry bag for anything (like cameras) that should not get wet. Dry bags can be tied to the raft. Put straps on your sunglasses. Bring sunscreen.
The rafting company will transport you by bus to the starting location, feed you lunch mid-way (on land with restrooms), and end our trip back at the parking area at the end. They do appreciate tipping at the end.
This is the ideal time to wear the activity uniform (Class B scouting t-shirt) if you have one. Don't bring your field (nice) uniform.
