Cycling Merit Badge - 5th Ride

Wednesday, June 26th, 2013 at 5pm - 8pm

Location: 60 Acres Parking Lot

This event is in the past.

Thank you Tom and Scott. Here is the proposed write up.

Dear Families,

We would like to announce the cycling merit badge which is an Eagle scout option and an alternative for the swimming or hiking merit badges. The challenge with this merit badge is the multitude of the rides ranging between 10 and 50 miles long. We are planning to organize the rides and also cover the merit badge requirements 1-7.

For this merit badge the scouts need a bike, helmet and a way to transport the bike to the trail. Riders should plan to dress in layers, bring sun screen, sun glasses and  be able to carry water and a snack. The riders should be physical fit for the long and strenuous bike rides. All rides will happen on Sammamish, East Lake Sammamish and Burke-Gillman trails with no car traffic and flat terrain. All departures are from the 60 Acres parking lot. The scouts need to keep track of dates, route traveled and interesting things seen.
